This version, crafted from cherry plywood, is a piece of history and a playful ode to the two original Eames Elephants—prototypes made out of molded plywood—which were displayed at the MoMA from 1945-1946.

As part of their plywood molding experiments, Charles and Ray designed a series of animals for children. The most beloved of these was the Eames Elephant. The Eames Office created a print-ready template you can use to decorate and build your very own or with your kids and share #MYEAMESELEPHANT on Instagram.
